MCI has recently launched 3G network commercially. This project has got a lot of steps to do since long ago and it’s still ongoing. NodeB installation, RBS swap and E// minilink installation and swap are among these projects.
BRTel is a major role play in all above projects since the beginning. The swap project has got three phases. Pre-swap, Swap and Post-Swap activities.
Outages, network interruptions or incidents are unavoidable in every swap project. However BRTel has always tried to deploy a standard method to keep this as minimum as possible and has proven this in practice. We assure a high quality smooth swap guaranteeing network safety, stable KPI’s and in-time delivery achieving to generate revenue at fastest. This project was rewarded to BRTel on March 2014 and during the first 6 month, BRTel managed to complete 110 links performing 18 sites a month on average.
In every growing mobile network with a modernization project planned for the network it’s necessary to collect, store and manage the inventory data. It’s a massive job to do considering the geographical distribution of the sites in regions and the necessity to visit the sites physically. The main objective is basically to know what equipment’s are installed or available in each site. Therefore usually the database needs to be collected and kept updated by visiting the sites periodically and in a structured format. On behalf of MCI, NAK defined a project and BRTel chose to get involved in Iran north region for more than 3000 sites. The agreed scope of work falls into two categories:
First field activity to do visual inspection of the site and basically to collect photos and information from all on-site electrical-mechanical equipment such as power, tower, TX & BTS, etc. Then as a next step a CAD file and a checklist has to be prepared. Afterwards, a site document will be made consisting all information to be submitted to the customer.
This project started on May 2014 and up to now, BRTel has managed to complete and submit xxxx accepted audit site documents to the client successfully. The project is going simultaneously in three provinces of Mazandaran, Gilan and Golestan with dedicated teams in each region to meet the targets.
As part of Modernization project of MCI network from 2G to 3G, NodeB installation project has been defined by NAK for Tehran and Karaj for obver 1500 sites and BRTel is playing a key role for this target. For the NodeB project, NAK has defind sub-projects for Transmission swap, Antenna redesign and NodeB installation. The transmission project we need to swap all the links with High Capacity Equipment such as SDH MW instead of PDH.
Antenna redesign also needs to be done as 2G network required XX-Pole RF Antenna but in 3G we need to use XXX-Pole RF Antenna. Also some height modifications need to be done in this phase. As a final step, we need to install 3G Base Station Equipment such as RBS 6000 (such as 6301) series or Flexi Multi Radio.
However right now in MCCI Project we are Swapping Nokia BTS (Ultra/Flexi Edge) to Ericsson RBS 6000 Series. The first two months of the project BRTel managed to complete 10 NodeB sites and the trend is increasing. It is also worth mentioning that BRTel is nominated as Class A type of companies from quality prespective aproved by NAK quality assurance team.
